Woman Charged With Murder After DUI Accident

(LOUISVILLE, Ky., August 28th, 2004, 5:30 p.m.) --

A Louisville woman faces murder charges after police say she accidentally ran over and killed 18-month-old girl.
It happened Friday night in the Colonial Estates Mobile Home park. Witnesses say the baby's mother got out of the car and sat the child on the pavement. She then reached into the back seat to get the diaper bag telling the driver to wait. But loud music coming from the car apparently kept her from hearing the warning and she backed over the infant.

"I ran over here and I grabbed the car and tried I tried to pick it up and that's when everyone else came over and helped me pick the car up off the baby and my little sister pulled her out from underneath," said Andrea Heath, an eyewitness to the accident.

The driver, 42-year-old Carrie Lundgren, is charged with murder, DUI and driving on a suspended license. Lundgren is a resident of Colonial Estates.
