DES MOINES, Iowa -- The Des Moines Police Department plan to announce a
crackdown on citizens who violate the city's noise ordinance.
The police department said that past several years, complaints from
residents and neighborhood association about loud music from cars and loud
mufflers are on the rise.
Complaints have come in about city streets, public parks and neighborhoods.
Patrol watches and traffic units have been instructed to take a proactive
approach to enforcing the noise ordinance.
At 9 a.m. Tuesday, Des Moines police plan to lay out their plan to more
strictly enforce local and state sound ordinances.
Those who like loud cars and motorcycles might want to be more cautious
before revving that engine.
