Crime, Violence, Misfortune and Thugs
The law and media tell us that there is a direct link between loud car stereos and crime. It not only shows up in news releases, such as those below, but also in law enforcement references, logs and reports. Those are only the reported crimes.

Community Action
They told us we couldn't stop sonic assault.

Vroom
Boom cars operators are also known to be very fond of installing other noise makers on their cars. As if the boom wasn't enough, they need you to notice them when the stereo isn't going as well. The louf, raspy, farting type of noise you hear from these cars is the aftermarket exhaust systems, or straight pipes. Almost as irritating as the stereos, and just as unnecessary, most people would rather these items be eradicated as well. They are pushed by the same noise industrial complex players as the boom cars -- manufacturers, MERA and SEMA.
There are tons of useful, educational and interesting links among these sites that deal with boom cars, noise, our rights and hearing conservation. Each site has a different flavor.
